Most stable method to use Rekordbox?

I've tried to look for this answer but can't seem to find any clarity.

Let's exclude the scenario of exporting to USB and then playing live on USBs only. My question is more focused on using a laptop during Live performance.

1) I can use Link Export mode (connect cdjs to an ethernet hub and then connect that hub to my mac - I currently use a Lan Cable -> Thunderbolt adapter to connect to my macbook pro). With this, I am able to use rekordbox export mode and just send any track straight to the CDJ.

2) Use DVS mode/Rekordbox DJ mode, and use control cdjs to "control" rekordbox.

Which one is the more STABLE option to use if I want to use my laptop for live performances?

Do many of you use Link Export (ethnernet etc) whilst djing live and transfer tracks from laptop to CDJ? For some reason, it seems to be that this is like some sort of "hidden" feature that not many people know about. There seems to be more emphasis on using DVS mode by pioneer if a DJ wants to use his laptop? Why is link export mode don't "advertised" as much? And also, why would someone want to use DVS mode when you can just use link export?

Just curious - would really appreciate comments on this, thanks!

This isn't "hidden" -- in fact, for the first 3 versions of rekordbox, this was really the only way to use a computer running rekordbox while performing, the "performance" side was included with v4.

Yes, it's more stable, if only for the fact that it's serving up your tracks over the network as a type of "smart" hard drive with a screen. All the grunt work of decoding tracks and playing them is done by the CDJs themselves.

Performance mode isn't just DVS, it's also for controllers and those who want to mix using the software.
