I use Grand VJ (or sometimes Arena) Ableton and Serato in my shows. I’m new to DJing, but design visuals. They all synch with Link. I just upgraded from a $200 DDJ SB2 to a $6000 setup with two CDJ2000nexuses and a DJM900. I I just got a $6000 Pioneer DJ setup to use with Serato, I started playing with Rekordbox thinking it was the better program until I couldn’t find the Link control.
i literally didn’t believe that it didn’t have it...searching everywhere for a bit of hope. And then I found all these threads. Insane. It’s like a keyboard in the 90s not having a MIDI port. It makes zero sense. I am thrilled to have the industry standard DJ setup, but shocked that Pioneer as a company could be so incredibly short sighted. I don’t see how this poor decision is going to put money in the bank for anyone at Pioneer. The people who take time to post complaints are fraction offset who share their sentiment on this topic. And there are clearly a lot. You are alienating a lot more customers than just those on this board.
I will return to Serato, ONLY for this feature. I will continue to use my Pioneer products until I find an alternative. Then I will be gone, like so many more. And someday people will remember Pioneer like they do Atari.
