So, after 23 months of regular use and almost flawless performance both at home and out in clubs and bars, my set-up failed badly last night.
XDJ-RX (Mk1),
Kingston DTS E9 G2 USB 3 64GB stick for read, been using this since I bought the RX
SanDisk Ultra Flair 64 GB USB 3.0 for recording (only).
Playing stand-alone from the Kingston USB
This is my regular set-up and usually works perfectly but…
Got about 30 mins into the set that I was recording on the SanDisk stick when I tried to load a track and got a message along the lines of you need to analyse your files with Rekordbox to use the Quantize function, which I thought was strange as all my files on the stick and in my library are analysed, anyhow I thought maybe it was just a rogue file so tried another and another and another with the same result
I stopped the recording and safely ejected both sticks, power-cycled the RX and tried again, same result
I took the iffy stick to my Windows PC and could see the “Contents” & “PIONEER” folders ok and the contents (tracks) in the Contents folder were intact but the contents of the PIONEER folder were scrambled, see screen grab below:

I opened RB but it couldn’t see the USB stick even though Windows could
Has anyone seen this sort of thing before? It’s rocked my confidence a bit as if this had happened live I’d of been stuffed
What baffles me is how the files got corrupted when they were only really being read from?
