Microphone output very low DDJ-SX3

Hello I recently purchased a DDJ-SX3.

When I plug a Sure SM58 microphone into the MIC3 input on the front of the panel the output to my speakers is very very low. I have the volume set to high and mic turned on.

If I plug the same microphone to the back of the mixer to line 3 the mic works perfectly.

Do I have a defective mixer?

What are the microphone db input setting on the front of the mixer is it not the same as the back of the mic inputs?

The mic permission security setting has serato DJ pro checked and I am running firmware version 1.02 on the mixer.

Thanks

John

Hello John,

The DDJ-SX3 engineers answered below.
The three Mic inputs of DDJ-SX3 are all different as Pulse already provided.

MIC1:XLR / PHONE combo jack
MIC2:XLR
MIC3:PHONE

All of them are totally different so that you need to have three different types of cables if you want to connect them in order to hear the normal output.
What kind of cables did you use to connect the three different jacks?

Thanks,

CRM, Pioneer DJ

Very strange but if I press the microphone wire into the socket it works on the front of the mixer.

The same wire on the back of the mixer does not need to be pressed it works fine.

I will have to take the wire to guitar center to verify if its the wire or the mixer.

Have you tried using a different cable?

Is the cable balanced (TRS) or unbalanced (TS)?
