XDJ-RX2 BUTTONS PROBLEM

I have a problem with the following buttons:
"rekordbox", "midi", "usb1", "usb2", "time mode auto cue".

If I want to choose them I can not do, none works.

Only usb1 works when i connect usb stick and if i connect usb2 I can not select it while the console is recognized it.

Τhe same applies to the other buttons.

I use rekordbox 5.3 and firmware 1.33,
but with the previous firmware I had the same problem except version 1.20 which I can not get back to.

Is firmware problem or console? Or needs some adjustment;

Can you tell me which mode you're in when those buttons aren't functioning? If you're connected to rekordbox in performance mode (controlling the software with the hardware), then there are some buttons which wouldn't work as expected until you release that control.

I use the system in mixer mode: xdj-rx2 and the rekordbox in export mode.
My operating system is Windows 7 Pro 64-bit.
But even in performance mode to use it would have to work once I have installed the appropriate drivers and change the mixer mode to midi.
I tried it but the but the problem is still here.
I want to work as standalone not as midi but I need and the usb2.

Okay, so if you're using it as stand-alone, you wouldn't be in MIDI mode.

Do the buttons operate as expected when you're not connected to your computer?

No they do not work normally as expected just plug in the usb stick, recognize it, push back, go to playlist of usb1 and I do my job. But I also need usb2 and while recognize it, I can not choose it because the button does not work.

Of course, I send you tomorrow a link to download and see it because I can not do this at this time and I hope to find a solution.
Thank you.

OMG that website is AWFUL -- it's full of dodgy links and possible malware! Never use it again!

Can you please try using a different source? It's possible those USB hard drives are causing an issue.

I tried with a usb stick kingston 16gb and the buttons worked normally after 3 attempts, but they are working normally now.
However, spatiality is very small for me.
Can you suggest me some usb sticks 128gb less or some 256gb so I do not have the same problem again?

Thank you!

So here's where I think the issue is from -- the drives are drawing too much power from the XDJ-RX2. If you use a Y-cable to provide additional power it may work fine.

Do they happen to be Western Digital Passport drives?

I do not know about the cable that you suggest me, but I will look for it because I need at least 128GB and I use the drives you said, western digital my passport.
I try to use patriot usb sticks or the cable you said and I hope don’t have problems again.
Thank you for the support!!

Funny how I was able to guess the brand ... over the years I've noticed the most problematic brand / model of hard drive is the Western Digital Passport. They seem to require more power than other models. If you can use a Y-cable to provide additional power, that may work better, otherwise yes - there are plenty of other drives which will work.

After a week of 128GB usb patriot use, I have the same problem again.
The buttons functioned only on the first day and from then on I have the same problem again.
What do I need to do to finally solve the problem?
I need both usb.

@Constantinos > Could you please post that video again (to a different sharing site), our engineers weren't able to download it before it was removed. Thanks.

Can you suggest me a site to upload it to see it?
I removed this because you say to me don’t use that site again.

You'll have to email the link to forums@pioneerdj.com for me to receive it -- if you use any other address (like the one that sends you notifications of new posts / replies), it won't go anywhere.

Ok, I'll send it to you now with "wetransfer" in the mail you told me.

The video is the same which I've sent to you with the hard drive, but I still have the same problem with the usb stick I'm using now.

@Constantinos > Just following-up, were you able to get the RX2 serviced?

Unfortunately, I have not yet managed to run the machine for service because I work almost daily and I need it. Besides, the nearest service point is 400 kilometers away from my city.I am very disappointed, because it is unacceptable that such a machine like this will not work properly after the actions it told me to do.

As you understand, it is difficult to go to Athens for a day and come back the same day because I do not know the time that the service will last and the economy cost.
Would you please tell me what to do to restore it to the factory settings and install the latest firmware from the beginning?

I'm asking because the engineers wanted to clarify some information with you:

1. Did you have this issue when using specific USB devices? Did you try other USB devices, too?
2. As you mentioned, "I tried with a usb stick kingston 16gb and the buttons worked normally after 3 attempts, but they are working normally now", does this USB device does not have any issue at all after that?

Since the both software and hardware, the engineers are not sure if it is caused by specific USB devices or not. If the USB devices are the cause of the issue, it may not be fixed at the service center.

As I told you the first time i had the problem I was using a hard external wd 1tb as you would see in the video I sent you.

Then I tried with usb stick kingston 16gb and after 3 attempts there was no problem, but as I told you the specific capacity is very small for me.

Then I bought one 128GB usb stick patriot. The buttons functioned only on the first day i used it and then the problem continued. I tried again with the 16GB kingston stick, sandisk 32gb, kingston 128gb and the problem remains.

I can not always buy usb sticks and experiment to see if it works. I find it inconceivable that a 2000 Euro machine almost has such a problem like this.

I'm sorry for my style but I'm very disappointed with pioneer because i use pioneer equipment for over 14 years and this is first time is happening and there is no solution.

You haven't specified which particular Kingston or Patriot model USB drives you're using... there are several, and not all are the same.

For example, Corsair makes the Survivor series drives, which we know do not work properly with XDJ players, however they also make the GTX, which is one of the best drives on the market and works flawlessly.
