Using one turntable and one CDJ with Pioneer interface 2 and Rekordbox

Hi, I recently switched from Serato SL2 to the Pioneer interface 2 with Rekordbox. My previous setup with Serato was one turntable and one CDJ (CDJ1000 Mk2) going into the Serato box set to Phono (although the CDJ should be going into a line input on the soundcard it worked this way without any noticeable distortion and allowed me to use both the turntable and CDJ at the same time).

After switching to the Pioneer IF2, I tried this workaround but got a much too hot signal in the IF2 phono input from the CDJ. My question is:

Is there a way to have a CDJ and turntable plugged into the interface at the same time without getting a too hot signal from the CDJ in phono or no signal from the turntable in line.

If not:

1. Can i simply reduce the signal from the CDJ in the Rekordbox settings.
2. Could I use a phono to line preamp between the turntable and interface to boost the phono signal to line level and use the interface in line mode.

Update - When using the IF2 in phono mode it works with the CDJ (it glitches on immediate play every now and then but generally no other issues) - my question now is, can running the line signal from the CDJ into the IF2 set to PHONO damage the interface?

Also - any updates on the 33/45 rpm option?
