DJM900NXS and Rekordbox DJ

Hey there,

I was wondering if anyone knows what the oldest firmware on a 900NXS2 would be to run Rekordbox DJ.

3 times I've plugged in my system to a DJM900NXS2 and on none of the occasions has Rekord box dj been recognised.

Or probably more specifically my MBP isn't recognising as an audio device.

All the drivers on my Mac are installed, so I was assuming there may be a firmware issue.
My main problem if it is firmware issue, is that I very often am playing mid evening when the club is already open and pumping. Not a great time to stop and update firmware. Has anybody else encountered this issue?

I would say if you don't have at least 2.02, you should update:

Ver.2.02 (8 August, 2017 Update)

[IMPROVED]
- Cut lag length improved for a more responsive scratch performance.

[FIXED]
- Popping noise occurred via USB audio (FX SEND/RETURN) when switching FX assign on rekordbox with BEAT FX enabled.
- Fixed other minor issues.

If it's not recognized as an audio device, is it recognized as a USB device? Go to the Apple icon, click that and select About this Mac... and then click the System Report... button. On the left, click USB and then look on the device tree at the top to see if the DJM-900NXS2 appears while connected. If not, then try a different USB port / cable.

If the DJM does appear, but still isn't an available audio device, it could be you didn't bypass the system security when installing the drivers (High Sierra / Mojave). First, download the drivers, run the uninstaller from inside that pack, restart, then install the drivers, and follow these instructions to allow the driver install through the OS security.

Thanks so much for this reply,
I'll check all the things you've mentioned.

I may have to contact the company that has the installations at the places I play at and get them to update all the firmwares on their mixers, it's impossible for me to do it if I'm not playing first.

Once again I really appreciate this reply, in the past I've had real problems with the Pioneer forums.
This is fantastic.

All the best

I'm not convinced the firmware is the issue, but yeah, updating mid-evening is an impossibility, but one would expect that the venue technicians are receptive to updating the firmware.
