Rekordbox DVS compatibility with Mac OS Mojave

Hello Community,

since months I am facing the problem, that rekordbox dvs is not working anymore. The Setup remained the same. At the ADE this year, guys from the Pioneer stand told me that it might be connected to Mac OS Mojave. They told me that an update will be published within the next months. Unfortunately nothing happened and rekordbox dvs is still not working...

The Mixer is recognized when it is connected to the programme. However, i dont get any signal from the control vinyls. I dont think there is a problem with the setup because it was already working for a couple of time!

Is anyone having similar issues?

Can anyone help me?

I have not used my DVS system for months and i am getting a bit upset already...

Greetings,

Jan

Have you allowed rekordbox access to the mic? Without this setting enabled, rekordbox can't acquire input signal from the mixer, regardless of what else you have configured.

There needs to be a check-box beside rekordbox for this to function.

I am using the DJM-850 and two PLX-500 and the control vinyls RB-VS1-K (which are the first ones that came out right?)

I am using a MacBook Pro Retina, 15-inch, Early 2013 and macOS Mojave Version 10.14.2

Have you installed the drivers and allowed them through the OS security? If not, first try uninstalling the drivers, reboot, then install and follow this guide.

Where do I get this driver?

The guide does not mention this.

I have a DJM900NXS2. I updated to Mojave and all of a sudden RekordboxDJ does not recognize my Vinyl timecode. I downloaded this driver (see attached) and nothing happened. What other steps can I take?

@JVenta > Follow these steps:

- disconnect your hardware

- download the driver

- open the driver package and run the uninstaller

- reboot your computer once that's completed

- run the driver installation

- allow the drivers through the OS driver security, if needed

- connect the hardware and see if everything is working as expected

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling rekordbox and it still does not work. When I switch to PHONO on the DJM, I do get the sinewave through my speakers. I can also play and stop songs with my keyboard. the problem has to be within my computer. The mixer is working perfectly. Both My DJM firmware and rekordbox on my laptop are up to date.

@JVenta, did you go into the rekordbox DVS configuration and the DJM900NXS2 utility to set the inputs and ensure they're set to DVS PHONO? You may want to try toggling them over to another option (eg. DVS LINE) and then back to the DVS PHONO, as that has been an issue for some users.

Yes. Iv'e done that. I tested it on my friends computer with mojave and it recognizes the sinewave from the vinyl on the rekordbox DVS configuration. The problem is within my laptop but I can't figure it out and I have run out of ideas. I uninstalled and reinstalled rekordbox aswell as the DJM900NXS2 driver. Is there anything else that can be done?

Im using MacBook Pro Retina, 15-inch, 2015 with macOS Mojave 10.14.2

Having this exact problem. Everything plugged in and setup correctly - 1 x 1210mk2 through a DDJ RZ, but all I hear is the sinwave. Also using Mac Mojave. What's the fix, Pioneer?

Having same problem since January. Mbp 2016 Mojave 14.3 (second mbp 2015 and hp on win10) djm250mk2, reloop rp7000, Shure m44-7 switching all equipments and nothing. I see only black hole in dvs scope. This issue absorbed my money! So guys from “leading company” in DJ world maybe start working on solving this issue?

Update:

It is still not working!

Are you serious Pioneer?

Was not able to use my DVS for OVER ONE YEAR.

A LOT OF PEOPLE AND I PAID MONEY and we are not getting anything for it at the moment as it seems.

We all want explanations, this is slowly getting a huge problem if you ask me.

THANK YOU! Allowing access to the mic worked! How is this not mentioned in any of the official setup instructions????? Please add to the user manual.

@Jon > Likely that the guide was created before Apple updated the OS to include that step -- but you should see the software ask for permission to use it the first time it's accessed.

Either way, glad you got that resolved! Enjoy.

@Jan > Have you...

- ensured that the drivers are properly installed?

- verified that rekordbox is allowed to use the microphone (even though it's not actually the microphone that it uses)?

- checked the configuration of the input/output audio devices within rekordbox?

- toggled the input selector within the device setting utility?

Finally it is working...

I tried it with a friends Mac and installed everything and it was working.

I also reinstalled the driver on mine again to check. This time i was using the driver from the link you postet. I should have done this earlier because obviously i kept on downloading the wrong driver from the download page, when i always re-installed everything on my mac.

Now using the link to the one Driver you posted here, is the only explanation i have why it is working now, because i did the same thing before already and it was not working with the drivers i re-installed.

Anyways... big relief and sorry for getting rude, but the level of frustration was already at the top ;)

Have a nice evening!

I have the same issue on Mojave 10.14.5 / DJM250 Mk2 / rekordbox 5.6.0 / brand new Macbook Air.

Tried everything on this and other threads regarding the DVS control issue.

Security allowed for driver (checked system software setting). Mic access allowed. Uninstalled and reinstalled drivers following the guide linked in this thread. Uninstalled and reinstalled recordbox (including driver) and tried anew. Tried the driver linked above (2.0.0) which was the same driver bundled with the latest version. Tried the setting utility. DJM250 is listed in the sound menu of the system preferences, but no options available.

Any ideas?
