Macbook Pro DDJ-SX3

My macbook Pro is connected to my DDJ-SX3 on USB B and I can control the fader & volume and see that it is communicating on the macbook.

It will not play or load songs though. I am running Yosemite OS.

I have my IMac connected on USB A and it is working perfect

Any help please  & Thank you

@Patrick > If you have the USB cable connected to the "A" PC connection on the SX3, the channel input selectors also have to be set to "USB A":

@Patrick > Can you tell me where you "see it communicating"?

Is it only the audio that's not working?

It won't load or play a song so I guess yes, just the play function etc

I don't understand -- you say it controls the faders / volume, but you can't load a song. Can you elaborate?

So If I hit Load from the controller, noting happens on the Macbook. But If I slide the Fader on the controller, i see it move on the macbook so I know they see each other. If press play on the controller nothing happens on the macbook.

Does that make sense?

Virtual DJ 8

On My IMac (which I have plugged into USB A), everything works perfect

So when you slide the volume up on your controller, you can see it move up on the Virtual DJ software on the macbook screen. Just the Fader etc

Do you have the SX3 properly configured as the audio device in the preferences?

How do I make sure?. I am just going by default settings

Is there a separate setting to put it on USB B?

I do also notice that if I press Play on the macbook manually (using keypad), I do not see and levels showing on the controller volume so it does not appear it sees the input of the music

If you haven't done so, you definitely want to open the Virtual DJ preferences to check the configuration of the audio device... that's probably why nothing is happening.

Patrick, you haven't configured the software for OUTPUT to the SX3! No wonder it doesn't work.

@Patrick > You've configured the outputs for each deck to the SX3. I'm not sure why the SX3 isn't selected in the upper portion of the window, but it should be working for you.

I updated the firmware from my iMac to the controller. I don't need firmware on Macbook, correct? That is just for the controller ?

No, the firmware is on the unit itself.

Does the SX3 work with Serato DJ?
