Were you using rekordbox in EXPORT or in PERFORMANCE mode?
If performance mode, which model mixer are you using and how is it configured as the audio device?
When you say "closed down the mac and reopened" do you mean rebooted?
Did rekordbox crash?
Hi
The strongest thing happened on Saturday night while djing, all night rekordbox was showing missing files from the root directory. Which didn’t really concern me at the time b a use I was playing from the collection.
My setup is a mac / mixer / cdjs with iTunes and Import the tracks in the collection. Then suddenly the music stopped playing out the speakers even tho was still going round on the mac. I tired everything but wouldn’t come back on.
I closed down the mac reopened it the collection & all the playlists have gone but the music is still there in I tunes library not sure what has happened - help please.
It’s still gone now, I’ve never had a problem before which makes it all the more strange.
I’ve got a feeling something is wrong with the rekordbox.xml file or its missing all very very odd.
Thanks Robert

Ho
Thanks for your reply I was using the program in performance mode, was using a a pioneer mixer 750. I plug both usb decks into my book book pro.
The strange thing is rekordbox didn’t crash but the audio dropped out so nothing was coming out even tho the deck continued to go round, nothing was unplugged or moved on mixer just cut out.
So yes then I rebooted the mac, and although the audio came back my collection & playlists are empty.
If I select rekordbox xml from preference view section when I click on that on the left hand said it gives me a error message.
Robert
Unless there's a specific reason you're using the XML view to begin with, ignore that.
If you rebooted without shutting down rekordbox, there's a chance the reason your collection was empty was that you damaged the database. Try restoring a backup of your database (if you haven't already opened / closed rekordbox more than 3 times since):
Open the following location:
OSX: /Users/yourusername/Library/Pioneer/rekordbox
Rename datafile.edb to datafile.edb.old
Rename datafile.backup.edb to datafile.edb (removing .backup)
Pick the number based on the date stamp of the file which corresponds to before this happened.
