Why is track analysis still so terrible?

Take a look at the attached screen shots. This happens with about 20% of all tracks. Following the analysis, I have to redo them manually which is time consuming. Running latest version of RB and the tracks are pretty straightforward, mostly all house in 120's BPM range.

I find this happens less often than it used to, but is more likely with certain tracks (those with strong off-downbeat hats, for example), and occurs less frequently when I select a narrower BPM range, more suited to the tracks I'm analysing.

In all examples above the downbeat is definitely bigger/stronger than the hat. These are simple 4/4 kicks, not DnB. I've been using RB since version 1 and things like these illustrate how far behind this software is behind competitors. Just as bad is analysis of tracks with variable tempo.

Honestly, I find rekordbox more capable of adjusting to variable tempo tracks than any other software, and certainly better for dynamic analysis.

I agree with Pulse, and love the way RB handles variations in Tempo.  You just need to set the Analysis mode correctly for the type of music you are analyzing.

In some cases RB does get the first downbeat incorrect, and I use a simple trick to correct it.  I hit the x2 (doubles the tempo/bpm) then set the correct downbeat, using the First Beat marker, then click \2 (halves the tempo/bpm).  It's a quick and painless way to correct the improper downbeat.

Hope that helps a little!
