Consolidated iTunes Library - Lost all cue points - Please Help!

Hey guys, in an effort to back up my music yesterday (3000 songs.) I consolidated my itunes library without realising the effect this would have on rekordbox. It seems that all my music was copied from its original locations and placed into new folders within the itunes media folder. I always assumed that any cue point data was written into the file and so assumed everything would go smoothly as itunes was simply copying the files and moving them all to one place.

You can imagine my horror when i opened rekordbox to find double the amount of songs as usual, 50% are duplicates and the other 50% don't have cue points.

Any quick(ish) fixes for this? I still want to use itunes with rekordbox but I reeeeaaalllyy don't want to have to go back through 3000 songs and sort cue points out, especially when they're all fine in my collection

any help would be greatly appreceated

1) Sort by name. You'll probably notice that the duplicates are the ones added recently, and the missing tracks are the old ones... but those ones have your cue points, etc.

2) Sort by date, this should allow you to add a MyTag to the duplicates (heck, tag them as "Duplicates") and then sort your collection again by other methods to verify the "Duplicate" tagged files are the ones you want to remove from the collection.

3) Remove the duplicates by filtering down to that "Duplicates" tag

4) Run the relocation process... several dozen times. It's going to be a pain because you allowed iTunes to manage the locations of those files, but it should eventually link all of the files back to their entries in the database.

The only way to save all your cue points is to manually relocate all the files. I guess that the original file structure was changed so the batch relocate will not work. This is going to be tedious but in my view better than re-analyzing all your music.

Go to "Display all missing files", the result should be all 3000. Chose the top one, re-locate it (remember that you can use search) and make sure that the cue points and grid is correct. Then delete the duplicate that was loaded from the files new location. Re-start rekordbox and make sure all is ok. Then do the rest 2999. Think positively, if you do 430 a day it will only be a week!

Lesson to be learned? Never change your music file structure, NEVER! I really prefer the iTunes automatic file structure, keeps things structured, but can be a pain to merge in to.
