XDJ RX2 Froze on live gig!

Ok so i now also got the famous "freeze" on my spanking brand new RX2
Just when i had a packed dance-floor at a smaller club. Not a nice or enjoyable experience!

I rebooted the machine and used the exact same tracks so its not related!

I Run the latest version of RBX2 firmware 1.34

Rekordbox 5.4.3

No computer or performance mode / midi

Just thumb-drives and SSDs (16/128/256/512)

The machine just stopped working, and lighted up as if it rebooted, but no sound.

No response on the buttons or faders. And i could not turn of power. (I now know why as its a "software controlled feature)

Im not sure if this has been adressed before. but if you have the left / right fader at say 105 bpm, and match the other with the same bpm the waveform skips or moves, just like it try to focus. It is kind of strange as this (feature or bug) does not exist on the former XDJ RX.

I have been careful when exporting my music, i always clean my mp3s tags and insert only pertinent information. It does happen that i use Wav files, but not on the same drives.

I noticed that both RX2 and NXS / NX2 can get a bit slower when searching after a while of playing using bigger drives. And sometimes even NX2 end up with just giving me a waiting sign.

I have tried many many different brands like Samsung, Western Digital, Intel, Sandisk, Transcend on SSDs and Thumbdrives / SDs with the same result.

This is really frustrating as i really dig the RX2 and find this to almost be the perfect machine.

I know that bugs and errors do occur. And im curious if this is hardware of software related. As its not the music or my drives. I have never had any issues with real lockups on single players or older RX machines.

Could it relate to bigger files when using large size cover art?

Are they prone to lock up due to excessive forces like strong bass from bass bins or chock?

Do we need to cushion them like turntables?

This once again shows why you never should trust or depend on a standalone solution in a club environment.

This is not ment as a rant, just a heads up that this error still exist!

Best regards!

Hey Martin, I'll get you to file an inquiry ticket here and our rekordbox support team will be able to gather some additional information to assist you in resolving this issue. It could be something to do with the file, drive, database... too many variables!
