Hey guys. I'm thinking to change from traktor to rekordbox because lately traktor has been giving me sooooo much trouble that i don't think is worth anymore to buy a new controller with native instruments. Since i already have a djm 900 nxs2 i though it would be cool to get something that works with pioneer as well so I started my research and i saw that if you buy a controller with pioneer you get a licence as well. I'm aming to the ddj-400 to use it in small bars and places where they don't have equipment but is not worth to get the artillery to get the turntables and cd players but my question is for how long is valid the licence of rekordbox dj when you buy a controller? or is for ever?. I saw that you don't actually buy the software but only a licence to use it and you have to pay monthly. If it's so i think i would go to serato.
I saw as well that you have to buy another licencing type if you want to use dvs or conect your computer to the cdj 2000. Is that so ?
Any advice or any input about it?

The best bang-for-the-buck purchase is a DDJ-XP1. For $249 you get the controller, a rekordbox dj license ($129 value), and a rekordbox dvs license ($99 valiue); the hardware ends up being TWENTY BUCKS.
If you're looking for a controller to use in place of the larger kit, then yes, you may consider one of the other units, such as the DDJ-400, but it's really not as pro, and doesn't have the dvs license.

When you buy- or own Pioneer DJ hardware without the Rekordbox licence, you can buy the Rekordbox DJ licence a once for €139,00, or subscribe for a Base or Premium plan costing less each month buth giving you Rekordbox DJ and all the extra's like DVS, Video, RMX etc.also.
DVS can also be bought at once seperately.
