Auto BPM

Hey folks,

i'm considering buying a pioneer DJM mixer, just choosing which one first.

My set-up is 2 turntables, and my questions is about auto BPM counter on DJM mixers - does it catch BPM out of vinyls as well? I'm not talking about live recorded songs, but general house/techno songs that have consistent BPM. I'm having some troubles by learning how to mix two songs without seeing their actual BPM on some kind of device.

Also are any pioneer DJM mixer models that are more vinyl friendly?

Thanks.

Hi Vytenis,

Yes, any Pioneer DJ mixer with an FX module will be capable of measuring the tempo of the audio signal passing through the selected channel to show the BPM and to set the effects to that timing. While only one source BPM is shown at a time, you could switch the FX channel selector to the other deck to get a readout of that source's tempo as well.

Almost all our mixers are "vinyl friendly," but you'll find the more expensive ones have better quality sound for the phono inputs (naturally).
