Sean,
There is no ASIO driver to select; the DDJ-400 uses built-in WASAPI drivers, so simply select the DDJ-400 WASAPI audio device in the rekordbox preferences.
can somebody help me with a problem i am having when i can not select a driver for the ddj 400 and there is no audio coming from the headphones and speaker.

Hey, I had this problem are you running it through a laptop running a celeron processor? If so this is exactly what happens. It won't run at all. Needs to be intel I series. Worth posting anyway in case anyone else has this problem.
May be a silly question, but i made this mistake in regards to the no sound from headphones..
Have you pressed the CUE button under the Master and/or channels you want to hear?
I've had a similar issue. When I go into Preferences -> Audio in rekordbox and click the drop down, no "DDJ-400 WASAPI" appears, just "ASIO" but nothing to choose below that. (This is with my DDJ-400 plugged in via USB).

I can choose the Realtek inbuilt speakers of my laptop - then I will get sound through the laptop, but only a faint crackling through the headphone jack (and yes I have the appropriate CUE buttons pressed). Or I can choose Line - then there is sound through the headphone jack but I have to connect external speakers directly to the DDJ-400 to get master output.
This second option is not the end of the world, because I can just use external speakers and things work fine. However the DDJ-400 is sold as not needing external speakers so I'd like to be able to get the pc master out working properly.
P.S. I'm pretty sure my laptop runs on Intel and not Celeron.
