AC Adapter for DDJ-1000

The adapter is impossible to find online. I found a 5.5x3mm connector but it's sold on ebay and shipping to the US is not available.

Now even if I were to buy the part from the parts distributor, it is almost $100. Problem is, I can't buy it as it's not in stock. I called the parts distributor and they said they're having problems with Pioneer and not taking orders for it right now.

My DDJ1000 is still under the manufacturer warranty and my guitar center warranty, so I should be able to get one free, since the power cord has stopped working.

I've been trying to call Pioneer for the past few days and gotten nowhere whatsoever. I keep being told I need to contact a different department, the parts distributor, and even got hung up on once.

I can't use my $1200 piece of equipment because Pioneer has terrible customer service and decided to use an impossible to find ac adapter for this unit. This is a nightmare and I'm absolutely appalled by how Pioneer is treating their customer, especially one that has spent thousands of dollars on Pioneer products.

I need some kind of solution and asap.

Antoine,

Unfortunately the power adaptor is not covered by warranty unless it is DOA (dead on arrival), as we can't guarantee that the wall power our customers are using isn't subject to overvoltage / undervoltage / spikes / etc, or negligence causing damage to the cable, all of which are beyond our control and not due to a manufacturing defect.

I'm sorry this is a difficult item to replace, and I agree with you -- it's not an off-the-shelf part, it's really expensive, and as you can really only get it from one parts supplier, if they're having issues with stock, it's a problem for everyone.

I'm also sorry about the issues you've had with support, I'm not sure why you were hung-up on (or by whom; we use a call centre to generate tickets and they're supposed to handle that correctly). I've looked at your ticket with Luana, and she's provided the same information I would tell you here. I'll dig into the parts availability issue with PacParts, but unfortunately this is not something we can provide for you as a replacement.

So what am I supposed to do? I can't get a replacement from Pac Parts, I cant use the manufacturer warranty or my guitar center pro coverage since it's considered an "accessory" by Asurion. So I can't use my $1200 DJ Controller? It would cost you guys nearly nothing to replace this for me, but instead you guys have lost a customer for life, thanks!

Antoine,

I've already contacted our managers regarding the availability at PacParts. I don't have details on the supply chain, however they are looking into ensuring our customers can get the necessary parts in a timely manner.

I understand your frustration, but we can't simply provide replacement power supplies to anyone who says they've lost it or it's not working, regardless of the perceived cost.

Antoine, I just saw you made another call to our support centre, and you told them the adapter wasn't working when you opened the box. If it was bad out-of-the-box, Guitar Center would have swapped the unit for you (either the power supply or the whole DDJ-1000), so which is it... was the power supply bad when you received it or did it stop working after some time?
