FollowFeature Request: Store Cue/Beat grid info in .mp3 file itself
Hi,
I've recently switched from another DJ software to Rekordbox. The most noteable feature i'm personally missing is that all analysis data ( Beat Grid/Cue point & Memory loops ) are not stored withing the song file itself (or perhaps a cloud service connected to my account). I know this info is stored somewhere in a rekordbox library file, but this one requires the exact same location of song files on different computers.
I prepare sets on another computer I play out with, I also use iTunes to sort my music. So unfortunately rekordbox does not recognize preset beat grids/cue points when I transfer my iTunes collection to another computer with other file locations... When I was using Serato I did not have this problem.
Could this be a feature looked into for future rekordbox updates?
Analysis data should be easily transferable to other computers and tightly connected to the .MP3 file (even stored within preferably)
I know another possibility is ditching iTunes completely and using the rekordbox software to sort my music. As I have the same songs in multiple playlists, rekordbox somehow does not recognize these songs are the same and consideres them unique. So my 20 GB iTunes collection becomes a 50GB Rekordbox collection due to duplicates or even triplicates...
As a final critical note I think Rekordbox looks quite crowed with many buttons (subbrowers window? Automix window? Very Large PAD mode display). Compared to serato a lot of relevant information (Track information & bpm) is squished in a very small corner of the screen. For example: The PAD mode display is way larger than necessary in my opinion. If I bring a 14 inch laptop to a gig this can get annoying.
I do not expect feedback on this posts, these are just my personal suggestions.
Thanks for your time
