DDJ SX3 colour effects too loud?

Hey, I've just got the DDJ SX3 and I'm just wondering about the colour effects (particularly the noise sweep).  They are *way* too loud to use, and I can't see a way of modulating the volume at all.  Is it possible?

On the DJM900, the noise effect can be assigned to an empty channel and the channel fader affects the volume level (and the EQ can be used to take out some of the harsher high end frequencies), but I don't seem to be able to do that on the SX3.  Any thoughts?
