Recording vinyl with rekordbox

After upgrading to rekordbox 5.5 there's still an issue with recording from vinyl. I have a plx-500 turntable connected with a usb cable. Rekordbox is able to detect the sound input fine but is recording at the wrong speed. The seconds move at about half the speed of real time while recording so none of the recorded files play correctly.

Hasn't this issue been reported a zillion times already so why does it still exist? Unless there's a workaround I'm missing....?

Are you sure you didn't record it at one sample rate and play it back at another? Can you tell me what the recording settings were?

Ive just purchased a PLX-500 specifically to record my vinyl however I can record but the speed of the track on playback is too fast whether I listen to it back on reckordbox or music player on my laptop. I've searched everywhere and cannot pinpoint the problem, this is very frustrating as I've tried changing setting in my preferences but the recordings are exactly the same just way too fast, can somebody help me with this please.
