MICROPHONE WITH DDJ SX3 EFFECTS ECHO DROPS TRACK

When i am playing on decks 1 & 2  i like to use the microphone and use the echo effect by running my mic through the mic input 2. 

The problem comes in when i activate the effect, the track playing on deck 2 disappears and deck 2 goes blank. 

HELP
