DJS-1000 [TRACK MENU]>> [SAMPLING/EDIT] SHARP VOLUME INCREASE

Hello. During live play, when pressing [SAMPLING/EDIT] in the [TRACK MENU] screen, there will be a very strong increase in output volume of the sample track, affecting the whole output. DJS-1000 into properly connected via S/R to DJM-900NXS2 [BEAT FX Channel out, RETURN channel-in [1/4" AUX] or LINE [2xRCA] channel-in [INSERT]. Thank You.

Sounds like maybe a feedback loop? Are you by chance feeding the DJS-1000 in to the mixer and then back in to itself via the Send/Return?

As stated, it happens with DJS-1000 [THRU TRACK] connected EITHER via RCA to one DJM-900NXS2 input channel, OR via 1/4" to one SEND/RETURN channel. Pardon me, but is there a different way to sample live tracks than of course creating the loop that S/R is in itself? Thanks for your (er...) input.

If you are monitoring the SP-16 on the DJ mixer at the same time that you are trying to sample on a thru track, you are creating a feedback loop. The audio signal from the mixer is going in to the SP-16, back out to the mixer, back in to the SP-16, etc. Make sure the receive on the DJ mixer is not being fed back in to the send.

And I can't tell if you're being condescending or not but if you are I change my response to RTFM because in multiple threads I have only tried to be helpful.

Sorry, no condescension at all. You have been helpful and I was trying to lighten things up a bit, and failing evidently.

Yes I have Read The Manual well before I received my unit. To clarify, DJM > Effects Unit> DJS1000> DJM, via S/R. The sound increasing is the one from the SAMPLING/EDIT sample (my mistake in the explanation of the problem), while the sound of a LIVE SAMPLED track is extremely low (as stated in a different post). Extraneous feedback sound/noise doesn't seem to be the issue, although I see your point and why DJM has a blocking mechanism in place [S/R off when BEAT F/X channel on]. Thank You again.

Return the audio from the SP-16 to an unused input channel on the DJM and make sure that channel is turned down when you are trying to sample something. You could also try one of the other outputs from the DJM if the send/return loop is causing confusion. Try the booth out for testing. Booth out to SP-16 inputs, SP-16 outputs back in the DJM input channel 1 and make sure channel 1 is not in the mix when sampling. If it works that way, the problem is with the loop configuration.
