Why XDJ-RX2 doesn't support Flac format?

My CDJ2000nxs2 works good with Flac, even XDJ1000 could play Flac music, but why XDJ RX2 couldn't support Flac, even it's a new products released in 2018.

I thought XDJ RX2 is a product with more think about portability and it's the best pioneer ALL IN ONE DJ system, also it's the most expensive one.  but it's still couldn't read FLAC files, it's weird, it's A.D. 9102 now, even it's not good than any controller with a laptop. At least, controller and laptop could read FLAC and portability at the same time.

How many do care about flac, besides a couple of audiofiles, musicians and djs?

The promo company and audience does not!

As long as Mp3 sells, you will not find music / promo in flac, it takes longer time to convert and it takes far more space on the servers.

Sure i care about sound quality. and if i produce music i lean towards best possible quality.

But most 9 out of 10 promos for a dj comes in lossy format!

I can rip all my music from Cd's to wav or flac. But that means i have to increase my
storage as well. And im quite happy as it is.

if the source material are crap, the conversion will be even worse!

I have flac support on my NXS2, and do i use it? nope!

True enough not many.  But FLAC is free and open source.  Pioneer have implemented its support in many of their other products.

It's reasonable to conclude that the effort for them to support it would be minimal.  And even if the number of extra customers is fairly small it would be worth doing.

I know I used Traktor for many years instead of Serato or other options because they support FLAC, and my collection was in it.  If you've an entire collection in a format it's a lot to ask to convert it all to be supported.  Esp. if the only lossless option is WAV, which doesn't support file tags like FLAC and ALAC do.

You've replied to a nearly 4 year old topic to add this... all new products support FLAC.

Great stuff.  Ah I was having a bad day, good friend of mine tried to play out for first time in many years yesterday and the kit in the club wouldn't play his ALACs, and then I hit this comment when searching today about what is supported.
