With iPad os coming in fall it will be possible to connect an usb Stick to the iPad. Is it planned that rekordbox on iPad will support that so you can import music and export it to stick for prepare ?

In an ideal world:

I would like to be able to use my ipad as my main source of music preparation, an iPad OS Rekordbox app that is able to see my local and external music, import to Rekordbox on iPad, prepare the songs, and export to usb for use in CDJ’s XDJ’s alike.

Also, Rekordbox performance too ;P

I definitely agree with this. I’d love to use my ipad pro as my unique companion when i am traveling for a gig. No heavy devices in my backpack, just my ipad pro which is perfect for preparing my next performance. Now that ios 13 is opening new scenarios we can definitely rely on our tablets for managing music collections, edit cue points and loops and export on usb sticks

please Pioneer...

I would also like to use my Ddj 1000 on a iPad as my MacBook has just packed up and can no longer use my controller .

Unifying WEDJ and REKORDBOX like what Traktor is currently doing with Traktor DJ 2, is the way to go !!!

iPads are incredibly powerfull and so handy, I think it's really the next djing evolution, nobody wants to bring a 2k or 4k macbook/laptop just to play music.

@KOM > Have you seen that app? It's not an integration or an iPad version of Traktor at all - it's incredibly watered-down.

@pulse, you're right, at this stage it's just a basic first version of a ground up redesign ...

But it looks very promising, every is smooth and offers the same user experience all across the devices (windows/mac/ipad).
I'm sure it will evolve as fast as Rekordbox does. Serato seems completely out of the race since they're just trying to catch their late on some basic features and still don't have a real iOS djing app (reminds me Nokia fall down story)

I'm quite confident that you guyz at Pioneer have plans for WEDJ app, especially a real iPad version with an enhanced UI and better scratch processing ;-)

also a DDJ 300 ???

@Lewi > The DDJ-1000 is not a class-compliant device and requires drivers to be installed in order to function with any operating system, thus it would not be supported by iOS / iPadOS. Sorry.

@Pulse Hello, do you know if this is possible on the current or new ipad pro? I am thinkin connect a USB hub to the ipad, one port for the Pro DJ Link (export) and another for my external drive containing master database and my music files. Would this set up work connected to the XDJ-RX2?

Thanks in advance!

Nope, that wouldn't work on the iPad Pro because the rekordbox mobile app doesn't connect to external drives.

Sorry, no updates available at this time... and please be aware that we almost never have any compatibility for new releases on the day-of; our statement released today notes that we aren't recommending users upgrade anything until we've had a chance to test it (which is expected by end of October).
