DJM-450 and the computer part

Hey all,

Doing a little experimenting with my DJM-450 and the computer side of it.  Obviously I know that a USB cable plugged into the back of the mixer will allow me to use the computer with the mixer and control vinyl; additionally play songs from my computer NOT in Rekordbox on the A Channel/Channel 1.

I recently purchased a DISDIM cable.  If you want to get real specific it is a high speed OTG USB Type B converter cord compatible for iPhone X, Xs, Xmax, 8, 7, 6, iPad to USB mic, MIDI keyboard, electronic instruments and more.

Currently I have an iPhone 5s and no iPad.  So, this question may be totally irrelevant.  However, the idea here was to be able to plug an iPhone or iPad into the normal USB where the computer goes and then use the channel input selectors set to computer and use the iPhone or iPad instead of a computer.

So far, it is not working at all for me.  Certainly possible that is isn't and won't because I don't have the relevant iPhone/iPad model.

I am fully aware that I can use a regular iDevice USB cord and plug into the insert part of the mixer and play whatever music I want from there.  I also know that Rekordbox isn't a fully functional tool on and iDevice, hence why we have the computer.

But... for the sake of experimentation and in an effort to find new ways to make music, I wanted to try this.

Has anyone else tried this or thought of trying it in the past?  If so, does it work, can it work?

Any and all feedback is welcome!  Thank you!

Never mind... pretty much figured it out myself:

Went and bought and new iPad and tried the same thing with no luck whatsoever. Thought I could sneak one on the program.  Obviously not.  Thanks all!
