DJM S9 with MacBook Pro 2019

Hey there,

So a few weeks ago I bough a DJM S9 from my buddy. I was using a 2012 MacBook Pro 13" running macOS Mojave 10.14 and initially received "Error: Failed to connect audio!" in Serato DJ Pro. After troubleshooting for a few hours, I was able to fix this by deleting the driver in System/Library/Extensions and letting Serato DJ install the driver instead.

So, yesterday I finally bought a new machine, and was trying it out today to see if everything still works. Come to find out, the issue persists, and even after trying to do what I did for my first machine, it has not been resolved. The mixer does not show up in Audio MIDI setup, and I have tried adding it through MIDI studio no to avail.

Does anyone have the S9 working with any of the Touch Bar MBPs here, or had this issue on this machine and fixed? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

It does work with new MBPs - when you installed the drivers, did you bypass the OS security? If not, the easiest way to get around this would be to download the drivers again, run the driver uninstaller from that package, reboot, install the drivers again, allow the driver installation through security, then reboot once more.

Holy crap thank you!

This whole time I’ve been forcefully deleting the kext file from S/L/E and it wasn’t taking.

Following your steps above, it now connects and stays connected and also comes up as a device in the Audio MIDI Setup screen.
