It's not a Pioneer DJ problem, but rather a design of the MBP to go to sleep. Follow this guide for options.
Hey rekordbox forums,
I have a pair of XDJ 1000 MK2s that I would to use in HID mode w/ Rekordbox, but with my macbook lid closed. When I close the lid, it disconnects the players. Is there any feasible workaround to this?
I should mention that the XDJs are connected to a powered USB hub, if that provides any useful context.
Many thanks

Thanks for the tips Pulse. There are tons of apps out there that claim to keep a macbook awake whenever the lid is open, but it seems that apple is very restrictive on allowing apps to keep the computer awake when the lid is closed
After trying many apps from the app store (none of which worked with the lid closed) I found another program called "Fermata" that accomplishes this. I found the suggestion from this article, and it works perfectly!: https://www.addictivetips.com/mac-os/disable-sleep-on-lid-close-on-a-macbook/
Awesome - thanks for sharing that follow-up.
