When the track is paused, the jog mode is Vinyl. CDJ-2000nxs: the ring on the VFD display goes off immediately, as my hand stops touching the jog, despite the fact that the jog is still spinning. You are correct that there is also a difference in the way the jog responds after the "touch" has stopped, but this is more to allow for actions such as a backspin. In the majority of use-cases, nobody is rotating the jog as you demonstrate after a scratch with the intention of it being a pitch-bend.

It's good. In CDJ and XDJ, when backspin is performed, vinyl emulation (the ring on the jog lights up) continues until the rotation slows to a certain speed or stops completely, although the touch sensor was released earlier. This is the correct algorithm for behavior a jog. If the firmware took into account only the touch sensor, then backspin would be short, not realistic.

And in XDJ-RX2, the track returns to CUE only after the condition is met: (touch_sensor == touch_disable && jog_speed == 0 (or slow)) That is, in pause mode, the jog behaves like a backspin in play mode. But in the CDJ-2000nxs (and CDJ-800mk2 and other) in pause mode, this is not so. This difference is not in the design of the touch sensor.
