cue music on desktop to perform on laptop

i use my desktop computer to download my music, which i then transfer to my laptop through the local server and add it to my rekordbox library, but that doesn't seem like the most efficient way to do it. how can i prepare my library on my desktop and sync it to my laptop easily?
