Rekordbox deletes USB contents when plugged into a different computer
This has been driving me insane. I use my personal laptop for making my database and exporting my collection/playlists to my DJ USB. When I plug my USB stick into a different computer with Rekordbox, it automatically syncs THAT computer's collection to my USB, deleting everything I had put on there. Like if there's 10 songs on computer 2, and 1000 songs on my USB, it will sync those 10 songs and all the 1000 songs from computer 1 will be gone.
On computer 2 I have the Sync Manager window open (the Sync Device checkbox is UNCHECKED), and then when I plug in the USB it AUTOMATICALLY checks the box and starts overwriting/deleting my USB contents. To prevent it from erasing my music I have to uncheck it as fast as I can before it deletes too many songs. If I forget to do that, by a minute or whatever I've lost my entire USB contents. This is obviously a critical issue if I want to play on a friend's computer or vice versa, our prepared USB will be totally erased as soon as they plug in their USB. This is an insane bug. The Auto Export feature in Advanced Settings doesn't fix it - it's off - and does something totally different. (Don't even get me started on how ambiguous and confusing the settings labels are).
I understand now the Sync setting in Sync Manager stays with the USB stick. So to prevent it from automatically erasing the USB stick, I would have to remember to open back up the Sync Manager and uncheck the box every time on computer 1 after it has finished exporting. This is such an awful design!
It should either A. Only sync when you hit the ARROW button (which would be by far the most intuitive), or B. have a DIALOG BOX that pops up and asks to confirm you want to sync the current PC's collection to the device, just like it does when it asks if you want to sync My Tags (useless) and import the settings from the device.
It's insane that Pioneer makes it so easy to lose your entire USB contents just by plugging it into a different computer, say at your friend's house or club where you want to DJ. Please fix this awful design!
