DDJ-400 latest firmware & tempo slider sensitivity

I'm just copying the text from the reddit thread about this, because it's exactly what's happening : 

The latest firmware for the DDJ-400 was supposed to “improve the tempo sliders stability” but all it’s done is made the minimum increment .04 or .03 of a bpm, when before i could even move it by 0.01. 

It's already pretty hard to beatmatch on those tempo sliders, but even with a 6% range, it's now a harder to precisely micro adjust. What changed exactly?
