Official comment
Are you possibly using a shortcut on your Start menu or Dock to launch rekordbox? If so, that would cause you to be launching the older version which was not uninstalled.

REKORDBOX NOT UPDATING
Hi,
I have a bigger problem (bigger than my previous lol) - every time I quite a session using Rekordbox software to the next time I re-open the software I'm prompted with the same message "The following update packages were found...Current Version 5.6.1 Update Version 5.8.2".
I click start and install the latest version of Rekordbox, successfully (every time), but the next time I go to use Rekordbox is reverts back to version 5.6.1 and prompts me that an update package has been found and to update the software again...
Please help!
