Tracks still keep crashing/won't load/emergency loops etc..

Hi!

I'm a long time user of Pioneer DJ equipment and would love some help over here. I usually play from USB sticks, sometimes from export mode with my macbook and rekordbox but I end up having the same problem. The tracks keep crashing, sometimes they won't load up or they randomly go inside an emergency loop. Either way, it completely freezes the CDJ, XDJ's and the units linked, so I have to restart the whole unit for it to work again. This has caused some serious problems during some shows I've had up to this date. I have seen multiple threads about this problem and most of them were solved but the steps didn't help me.

When did it start to happen?

- When I switched from my older Macbook Pro to my newer one to the one with the Touch Bar. This has never happened before with my old mac and it started to happen as soon as I began using my new computer, not as often but it started to occur more often with time passing by. Most of my tracks are purchased and they shouldn't be broken at all. I think my transition with exporting the library from the old computer messed up my mp3's. I don't know if something's wrong with my tags either because I tried to retag them multiple times with Mixed in key but it didn't solve anything either. Worth to notice is that most of the tracks that are messing up my livesets are the ones that I imported from my old computer. What's really hard to understand is that it's random tracks that crashes the CDJ's, it's never really the same tracks so it's hard to see whats the problem. It's always a new track crashing it.

What have I done to try to solve it?

- Retagging with Mixed in Key, Re-analyzing the tracks and trying some mp3val type of programs made for Mac. No errors found single time. I don't care about Hot Cues and Memory Cues dissapearing, I just want this solved as soon as possible.

This doesn't happen with my newer tracks that I have obviously, but I'd love to see a solution. I miss having a gig with only USB sticks, now I have to bring alot of equipment just in case if it's crashing, and it sadly is most of the times. I'm using my new XDJ-XZ, but the same problem happened to my 2000nxs2 kit that I also had.

EDIT: I've tried with multiple USB sticks, right now I'm going with 2 of the Sandisk Extreme Pro ones.

EDIT 2: Some of my tracks are in format m4a because I purchase alot from iTunes. However, they also worked fine before.

Thank you!

@KENDRIM > If the drive connected to the source is crashing, then the problem isn't the link or network connections, it's something in the USB chain; that could mean the song, database, drive, the connection, or the player itself.

If the same thing happens with the same drive connected to another player, then the CDJ itself is eliminated and you're down to the drive, song, or database.

If you have two SanDisk Extreme Pro drives, format one in FAT32 and the other to HFS+ and re-export your music. Test one and then the other. See if there is any consistency in the loss of data, whether it's after a certain amount of time, or songs, or if it's a particular song or filetype causing the unit to no longer read the drive.

Thank you for your reply Pulse.

Yes, you're right. The problem is with my database/the tracks and not the actual USB's/CDJ's. I've tried about 5 different USB's and they all end up crashing the unit. This happens with every CDJ/XDJ I'm playing on.

I've re-formatted my USB's multiple times but I'll try your tip. Should I try to delete my whole library and import them again to my rekordbox again? This happened only when I exported my rekordbox library from my old Macbook to my new Macbook. I guess something happened with the mp3's on the way, I just can't find out what.
