Rekordbox Sound crackling

Hey guys, i recently bought a ddj 800 but im now having weird crackling noises when the controller is linked to rekordbox. (never had that with a ddj 400) Same goes for when im having rekordbox connected to a djm mixer in a club. I tried different things also changing the buffer size but nothing worked.

Laptop also has 16gb ram and an i7 processor. Rekordbox also just needs 800mb of ram and cpu is only 10 percent. What am i doing wrong? Is it because rekordbox is installed on ssd and my music library is on hdd? My laptop is now a year old..

Please help me get rid of it

Buffer is nearly on the right side 37,5ms. But i can change it to the left to the right, it will not change something. If i take the laptop of my brother everything works fluently.

I updated the graphics and disabled Intel Turbo Boost and It seems that it fixed the problem for now.I will test it more and update you.

I'm experiencing the same issue. Interestingly I hear the crackling only from the DDJ output (both phones and master output). However, if I enable pc output in rekordbox, the PC output is fine. That means I play audio simultaneously from the DDJ and the PC and I get crackling only from the DDJ.

That would make me think there is something wrong with the unit EXCEPT I tried on another PC with the same DDJ unit and it works fine.

I've tried disabling Intel Turbo Boost, changing the buffer size, and disabling the ConservationIdleTime. None of it worked. Any other suggestions?

@Andrea > Increase the buffer, check that all unnecessary background tasks / applications / services are disabled.

Try unplugging the power (if on a laptop) and see if battery-only resolves the issue; could be a noisy charging circuit.

Try a different USB port, or from a hub.

Lots of possible reasons...

Unfortunately I have tried all the above and still have the issue.

Interestingly if I use the DDJ as a PC sound card (selecting DDJ Line as output in Windows) everything is fine, no crackling sound.

So this is only happening when I use the DDJ master or phones output from Rekordbox using the ASIO driver.

I've been monitoring resource utilisation during the issue and I'm well below 50% CPU utilisation and plenty of available RAM.

Also interesting if I record in rekordbox the crackling is not recorded.

Any other idea I can try?

Thank you for recommending Latencymon.

Here's something very odd: when I run Latencymon, the issue disappears. As soon as I stop the monitoring, the crackling sound comes back.

I thought it was a coincidence but I can reproduce the behaviour over and over again. It really doesn't make sense to me ... but for now I'll just keep Latencymon running whenever I use the DDJ ...

I was having the same issue. I was connected to a USB hub, so I unplugged my DDJ from it and connected it directly to my laptop, solving the issue.

Having this issue when enabling track separation on Rekordbox 6.7. Random Crackling. Using DDJ FLX10 ASIO driver. There is no way to reduce/increae buffer size.
