Check the utility menu on the XZ, I believe there is a setting for it.
Came across a new bug yesterday. When loading a track from USB (standalone mode), needle lock is engaged even when the deck is stopped. My usual method on CDJs is to hold the platter then skip ahead, this didn't seem to work. I then hit CUE to stop the track but needle lock remained engaged.
The only way I found to bypass the needle lock was to use the << and >> buttons to move ahead then it was 'released'.
This behavior is much different than the other DDJ units (DDJ-RZ) as well as the standalone CDJs and XDJs. Thanks

Hi Jay
There is a setting in the utility menu but that disables it altogether. What i'm saying is the behavior is different than every other CDJ and XDJ and clearly a bug.
Please see the video below:
NEEDLE SEARCH does not operate during CUE standby regardless of the UTILITY setting.
CDJ and XDJ (Single PLAYER) have the same specifications.
However, in the case of CDJ and XDJ (Single PLAYER), the NEEDLE countdown function operates.
XDJ-XZ does not support the NEEDLE countdown function.
@tomo thanks for the explanation. You are correct, the issue is when CUE standby is on. I didn't realize this was the case with CDJs but as long as it's consistent I'm happy.
Appreciate hearing from engineering about this!
