Do you possibly have any other functions engaged, such as a loop or slicer?

Slip mode help for beginners :-)
When I select slip mode and move the jog wheel the play position indicator keep moving (as supposed), but when I release the joh wheel the track jumps back to the point where I starrted to use the jog wheel. Shouldn't it continue from where the play indicator is, not jumping back (isn't that the whole point of slip mode). Is there some setting somehere that is wrong?
