not reading video files

I decided to re do my playlist so I deleted all my folders and made new ones. When I started to dump all my mp4 in the playlist /folders certain files didnt show up in the playlist when they did before. Yes! there all mp4s Yes all my other dj software read and play thiese file but all of a sudden rekordbox doesnt now.

I dont know why Im writing this support ticket because I decided to go back to serato and sell my ddj 1000 but I cant even sell it or trade it in for the serato version. Since most retailers wont take it off my hands and the few that will wont even give me half of what I paid for it. So I decided to give rekordbox a try again just for it to make me completely delete it from my laptop and going to a pawn shop and get what ever they give me for my ddj 1000 even if it means losing out on hundreds of dollars.

you know what I dont care im going back to serato and selling thi

of Course it’s not my first time if using software. I’m adding it to existing folder which are reading some mp4 file but not all. When they did before. I’m going to reinstall old version. And see if that helps

While in "Collections", Search for any one of  the videos "that did't show up in playlists when they did before" You will find it there. Try and play it on deck.

Next: Leave collections. Go to Tree view, "ALL VIDEO". Down under it, you should see "Video Playlists". If you don't already have any playlist there, create one. Drag the files from "ALL VIDEO" tree view into your new video playlist. Do not attempt to drag from collections (won't work as u have already discovered), nor attempt to drag videos from ALL VIDEO to your playlists up under collections (also won't work, videos and audio playlists don't mix).

If you want to recover your previous playlists as they are....it is possible but requires that you had the files in windows/ios folders per playlist. Browse with your regular explorer to the folder of the playlist you want to add, drag and drop that folder into "Video Playlist". Once you do that, you will see a new video playlist named after the folder name you just dragged.

Welcome to the headache of dealing with video playlist alone, and audio playlists alone. No mixing. if you try to mix, you will end up where currently you are. rekordbox will only filter for audio files and if no audio files exist among the files you're draggina dn dropping from collection, you get a blank playlist!

Please let me know if ti works. I just sorted myself thru self-learning today after 1 full week of scratching my head.
