[Press Release] Focus on the Drop! Rekordbox Cue and Key Tool (ReCK) version 1.5 improves cue usage by focusing on Drop and Build-Up detection. [MacOS]

Rekordbox users get the best out of Mixed in Key (MiK) with ReCK, which has been developed with the full consent and endorsement of the Mixed in Key team. MiK not only analyses tracks for key, but it also sets cues on the energy level changing points within the track. Reck converts these MiK cues to Rekordbox, and either overwrite or merge them with user-set cues.

 

The brand new feature set focusing on the automatic drop and build-up cue detection is our answer to requests by many DJs. These new features are further complemented by ReCKs’ totally revamped user interface (another long-standing request from the fan base).

 

Drop cue detection

Based on MiK’s cues, set on the energy level transients in a track, ReCK is able to determine what energy level starts at each cue position, it even integrates these levels in the cue's names. New is that ReCk detects the cue with the highest energy level, adds the phrase "Drop" to its name and assigns it a user-definable color for easy identification.

 


Build-up cue detection

With the drop cue as an anchor, a user-selectable number of beats before the drop will determine where ReCK sets the build-up cue. Again with a selectable color for easy identification.

 


The full list of ReCK features is long, here are the most important ones:

• chronologically sorting entries in the hot cue bank *
• merging hot and memory entries and set them identical *
• assign color to cues and loops stored in the hotbank based on their name (CLP)*
• creation of a sortable comment field based on the track's Camelot key and energy level as obtained from the MiK analysis and Rekordbox BPM
• preceding zero for Camelot key values under 10 (e.g. 01A instead of 1A)

 

 

 

* these features are also available without Mixed in Key installed

 


ReCK minimum requirements:

• Mixed in Key version 8.5 or higher
• MacOS 10.11 (El Capitan) 64 bits

 

The update to version 1.5 of the Rekordbox Cue and Key tool is free for all registered users. ReCK will inform about the update and provide the download link during startup.
