Phase Analysis DMX channel options

In the fixture library there are often several options for the number of DMX channels for each fixture e.g. 7, 11, 13 etc.

What is the best choice for a simple light set up consisting of a four PAR lighting bar and a couple of moving heads? How is the analysis logic applied to determine what actions each choice applies?

It's not so much about the DMX channel number, more about the fixture number. Your PARs should be set as PAR1, PAR2, PAR3, PAR4. If you wanted them to work in pairs, it would be PAR1, PAR2, PAR1, PAR2 (for example).

To figure out how different numbering would make a difference in the output, open the lighting panel and check out the macros - they'll show the different colours, fades, and movements for the different fixture numbers.

Thanks Pulse but I’m still unsure? Do you mean the Macro Mapping screen where there is always a mirrorball shown (even though I don’t have one)?

i have my Kam Partybar WFS in 20 channel mode at addresses 1-20 and my two Stagg Headbanger 10s in 12 channel mode at addresses 33-44 and 45-56.

On the Macro Mapping screen I think the PARS are shown as 4 flashing “stars” two either side of the mirrorball but above those it shows 4 not 2 moving heads?

Sorry forgot to add that the Partybar is added as PAR 1 and the two Headbangers are Moving Head 1 and Moving Head 4

The mirrorball is just a representative icon - it doesn't actually show what the scene is.

Go to the Macro Mapping tab, select one of the macro scenes from the bottom by clicking the pencil icon at the top left, and you'll see this:

I've collapsed a few of the fixture types so you can see the variation in the programming.
