FollowDDJ-SX3 Issues: Cue Countdown, TRIM & MASTER Level

I've had a DDJ-SX3 for a few weeks now and a couple of things are really bugging me.
Inside each jog wheel there is an outer rotating 40 segmented display, showing the "deck" spinning when a track it played. Inside that there is a smaller 4 segment red display. This is supposed to be the countdown to the next cue point, however I can't make sense of it.
When I setup a cue point and then start playing the track before the cue point, the countdown doesn't seem to countdown in time with the track. Most of the stuff I play is 4/4 but the countdown seems to work in 3/3 or something. For example, I would expect that it would operate like this, where the bold number indicated when a the red quarter segment turns on before the cue point, and off after the cue point:
1-2-3-4 5-6-7-8 1-2-3-4 5-6-7-8
[CUE POINT]
1-2-3-4 5-6-7-8 1-2-3-4 5-6-7-8
but instead it seems to count:
1-2-3-4 5-and-6-7-8 1-2-3-4 5-6-7-and-8
[CUE POINT]
1-2-3-4 5-and-6-7-8 1-2-3-4 5-6-7-8
I know this isn't a very important function and it probably doesn't get used by many people, but I just can't work out why it functions like this, and how to actually get it functioning in time. Any idea?
Another thing that I've noticed doesn't work is that when you adjust the channel TRIM on the controller, the green/orange/red level bar for the corresponding deck in Serato doesn't change - and match what is being shown on the mixer. The same goes for the MASTER LEVEL dial, no change is shown on the Serato software. Is there supposed to be a link between the two?
