How to sync Maschine mk3 to djm-900nxs2

Hi, Please can someone tell me how I can sync my Maschine mk3 to my DJM-900nxs2? So far I've been able to enable the midi sync option (as slave) on the Maschine 2 software which allowed the bpm to be sync'ed to the Maschine mk3. So whenever I change bmp on my cdj-2000nxs2 it also changes on my mk3. When the midi sync option is enabled the play button gets greyed out on Maschine 2 software and the play button on mk3 stops working. When I search for solution, the most common answer I found was that I have to send the play command from the external device which in my setup is supposed to be the DJM-900nxs2? Is my understanding correct? If it is, how can I send a play/stop command to my mk3 from a djm-900nxs2? And if this is successfully achieved, will it only match the bpm, or will it also beat match both the master track playing from the cdj & the loops from the mk3? Any feedback or advice would be greatly appreciated.
