DDJ 1000 system requirements

I currently have a DDJ 400 but considering an upgrade to the 1000.

I'm using an old macbook with Yosemite 10.10.5, it won't update anymore.

According to the systems requirements the 1000 won't run on my old macbook, but it says the same about my 400 which works fine. If Rekordbok is already working fine should it be an issue which controller I use?
