Upgrade from Rekordbox 5.8 to Rekordbox 6 - All my Playlists Disappeared! :(

I'm running Windows 10 and just tried upgrading from Rekordbox 5.8 to 6.0.

The DB conversion seemed to go ok, but none of my playlists are showing up in Rekordbox 6.  At first I started to freak out, but luckily when I launched Rekordbox 5.8 everything is still there.

What do I need to do to have my playlists show up in Rekordbox 6?

@djdonniec

For me I just ensured I was at the latest version rekordbox 5.8.  Then I just download version 6 from the rekordbox website.  When I ran the version 6 installer, it automatically converted my 5.8 database to version 6.  All my music showed up but none of my playlists are there. :(

@Liam > Sorry about that -- are the playlists just missing or empty?

@Donnie > It works the same way regardless of where the music / database are stored.

@Pulse
There are no playlists showing up in RB6, empty or otherwise.

@Pulse > There are no playlists showing up, are you able to offer any advice?  I've reverted back to Rekordbox 5.8 because I really need my Playlists.

Thanks.

Please try importing again; make sure rekordbox 5 is closed and within rb6, go to File >  Library > Import your library from v5 and see if that works.

Mine too hasn't transferred any playlists. Tracks have come across fine, but no playlists show at all. Super annoying after waiting so long for the library transfer.

@Drudge > Try this instead... open rekordbox 5, make a backup via File > Library > Backup Library, do not include the music. Next, open rekordbox 6, go to File > Library > Restore Library and bring in that restoration. All playlists should appear and it won't take as long as the transfer.

@Pulse > I'm just joining in on the fun as someone who recently downloaded Rekordbox 6.5. I'm trying to get all my playlists and metadata in from version 5.8, and so far your solution seems the most promising. After 'Restore Collection' completes in Rekordbox 6.5, it asks me to "restart the application." I do so, I'm prompted to enter my password, and I can see that my tracks exist, BUT, when it reopens, I'm still getting the "To use rekordbox, you'll need to do the following" first-time-startup dialog, which prompts me to convert my v5.8 library anyway. If I choose to "Start rekordbox with an empty library," all the tracks disappear and it does, indeed, force it back to an empty library. I fear that clicking "START" to convert the v5.8 library will result in a massive library twice the size of my original one. Is this what will happen? Is there a way around the "To use rekordbox, you'll need to do the following" prompt once you've run a "Restore Library"? Thanks for your time.

@zed > Your beset bet, if possible, is to directly convert the library rather than doing a backup/restore.

I'm not sure what you mean by "the tracks start (to) disappear" ?

@ Pulse > So it worked, the library converted but when I try to synchronize external volumes it looks like it's still trying to remove entire playlists worth of music from the volumes. This is extra stress on my USB drives that I don't really want, is there any way around this? The playlists are identical to ones that now exist in both Rekordbox 5.8 ant 6.5.

Also, what does it mean if there is a question mark next to 'CUE' in the CUE field? All of my tracks have that, but every one I've loaded into the player has the '?' disappear.

Can you clarify what you mean by "I try to synchronize external volumes" ?

@Pulse > I went to 'Devices', selected my external USB volume, and hit "Synchronize."
