Pro DJ Link - No longer able to sustain link. New windows update?

There have been a few posts on the issue, but I'm getting a behaviour that doesn't match, thus I'm asking now. I have a suspicion there may be some Windows networking quirk that has appeared, and users will need more guidance on how to sort the issue.

The scenario thus far:

  • Had been DJing in export mode from a laptop in RB 5, to a switch connected to 3 XDJ 1000 Mk2 decks.
  • The entire setup was fine for a very long time until about a week ago. Then, the Link button stopped appearing.
  • Didn't really think, just assumed upgrading to RB 6 was the solution as I knew RB6 had just landed.
  • The broad outcome was - No Link Button.
  • Looked into the posts online, and have restored the Link Button by disabling my firewall.

However, I am getting the following outcomes now:

  • Sometimes my 3 decks just don't show up in the link 'bar' at the bottom of RB.
  • Other times, they do, but the decks themselves won't actually make a Rekordbox connection.
  • And other times, the connection suddenly kicks in, and the decks can fully connect as they used to... But without warning, this reverts to the point above, where it won't make a connection. It seems to only connect for seconds (you can see the menus appear on the decks... then they go)

This is a feature I've used constantly for some time, so I'd massively appreciate help. I suspect it's very possible it's a Windows-side issue... Though having fully opened the firewall, it's hard to see what. I've only got the one ethernet adapter on the laptop, and I've shut down Wi-Fi as well just to eliminate things.

Okay! The good news, the issue was identifed. I'd killed the Windows Defender Firewall, but not Malwarebyes, and that instantly made the difference. I had two levels of firewall.

This does prompt one final pressing question from me - Are there ANY other folders at all that contain files Rekordbox not included in this path?

C:\Program Files\Prioneer

I ask, because I had tried covering all of Pioneer stuff in one hit, but it still clearly is blocking something.

I really want to make this an exception, and not turn off Malwarebytes. At present I have to turn off 'Web Protection' on it for it to work, so suspecting there are other paths maybe involved?
