Rekordbox 6 - custom MY TAG sync between devices

Hello Guys,

I am testing Rekordbox 6 to the full potential.

One of the powerful features of Rekordbox has always been customizing My Tag labels.

How do I set these on my MacBook Pro so that they are the same as on my Iphone and secondary MacBook Pro?

If this is not possible then the main feature of Rekordbox 6, which is synching data between multiple devices is for the most important part not usable.

Can anyone, perhaps Pioneer comment on this?

Thank you for your help.

Kind regards,

John

Hi John - same requirement on my end. I really like RB's custom tags and was curious if they would sync automatically through cloud sync in the creative plan.

So I tried it on my RB 6 test installation between Macbook Pro (High Sierra), Lenovo Yoga (Windows 10) and iPhone 11 (iOS 13.3.1) and am happy to report that custom tags do sync between these devices.

That is, new tags created, assigned or changed on Lenovo are propagated to Macbook and vice versa. All tags are correctly displayed in iOS RB and can be assigned there (via "info" button on main screen), it is however not possible to create new custom tags in iOS. Syncing to iOS and Lenove was quite fast (~1 min max), on the macbook it took a while longer and I even restarted. Not sure if the latter was even necessary, in the end RB on Macbook was perfectly in sync with the other devices.

Hope this helps...

Hi Dietmar,

Thank you very much for your response and shared experience!

Tried exactly what you have mentioned and got it working too.

Think this part is something that has not been addressed in the instruction videos floating on the internet, at least the ones I found just after RB6 was launched.

Great man, enjoy RB6, I am liking it more and more!

Cheers,

John
