Bad sound quality through INTERFACE 2

I've just brought the Interface 2 vinyl dvs got it all set up and working independently but when I connect the two via the dvs to play vinyl in or digital out of my computer the sound quality is awful through my sound system? As I understood it this equipment is meant to work with any set up im using technics SL 1210 mk 2 and neumark mixer to amp and speakers?
