If you want higher levels, ensure that the channel meters are about 3 LEDs into the orange (with your headroom set at -9), and that the recording meter isn't in the red,
So, recently I am trying to find the best options for my recordings.
I am using a Macbook Pro 2013 with Mojave 10.14.6 and a DDJ-1000 with Rekordbox 5.8.2. For recording I just use the record button.
Right now I am trying to record in very low volume. Trims are around the second dot, to have the levels in the green area when the faders are fully up. The master out on recording is at half and the levels are always in green. The Output Level in the Controller Mixer options is -9dB Headroom.
Afterwards I want to use FL Studio to push the volume up and I see these kind of waveforms. Some parts are just squeezed together (left), even though the most parts are dynamic (right). This is the same song by the way.
Maybe it is not a problem by rekordbox and more on my site. But I wanted to ask, if I am doing something wrong (in the options) or if rekordbox is not so good for recording. Thank you! :)
