Hi, I have the Rekordbox 5, am thinking of purchasing a DDJ-SX from a friend. He probably had the license key for that device activated. If I were to purchase from him, can he transfer the ownership to me? Can I use the DDJ SX with no issues, specifically the performance mode? I understand that SX isn't listed under hardware unlock devices for rekordbox 6 so I'm not keen on updating rekordbox. 1) If there is a way of transfering ownership (read online somewhere has something to do with deactivating license key from the previous owner's side etc.) and 2) can I use it in performance mode and recording a set in rekordbox 5 without additional cost? Just want to make sure there's no additional cost (to use the software-rekordbox) apart from getting the controller from him.
As long as your friend deactivates rekordbox 5 on his computer(s), it will be available for you to activate on yours. If he hasn't, then only he can request that they're deactivated by filing an inquiry ticket here.

Hi, update on the problem. So apparently he has never activated the license for rekordbox as he was using serato back then. He does not have the box that came together with the controller as he bought it a long time ago.. Can I just ask if there is a way to find the license key for the controller? Is it on any label or serial number sticker on it? I tried keying into rekordbox from the serial number i see at the back of the controller but it was invalid.
