DDJ RB microphone isn't working

I plugged my thomson m135 microphone into the controller with a 6.3mm adapter and turned the volume level up from behind the controller. On rekordbox i checked mixer/mic and pressed mic on. When I talk into the microphone it shows that there is sound coming into the microphone but I can't hear it from the speaker. What is the problem?
