make sure you unzip the file and make sure the file on the drive is named exactly as CDJ3Kv111.UPD
If you have another update in the same folder It may have named it something like CDJ3Kv111-2.UPD
hi, I'm trying to update my players to current firmware but when i drag and drop the download into my usb drive and try and unzip the file by double clicking it opens a web page 'untitled', is there a problem with the current download file? I've formatted a number of usb sticks to fat 32 now with no luck, any help would be much appreciated thank you

Thank you for your reply. I’ve tried that and for some reason when I drop the file into the usb and double click as said it opens up a new page in safari, the usb is fully formatted to fat32 with nothing else on the drive
download the zip file to the computer, extract it and copy the UPD file to the flash drive, then you have to bait the 3000 up into update mode (check the instructions on the site) and plug in the flash drive to the 3000
sounds like you may not be doing it that way
I’m doing it exactly the way you’ve said, double click isn’t unzipping the fike
are you on a Mac or PC? you need software to unzip the file like any regular .zip file you would download and try and open. If you're on a pc try downloading and installing winzip or 7Zip and then right click on the firmware zip file and extract it to a folder, then you should see the .UPD file to put on the flash drive
if you still cannot get it then try recording a video and posting it so we can see exactly what is going on, this is not an issue with the file, it is that you cannot unzip on whatever machine you are using
Don't use Safari to download it - I've seen the auto-unzip function of Safari corrupt the firmware files. Please try using another browser.
